Before the marketing has been developed, many corporate organizations were following the sales concept which was focusing on exchanging the people’s cash for products, and they focused on the money on the first priority without considering any other factors.

Sales Concepts is the ‘Idea that consumers will not buy enough of the organization’s products unless the organization undertakes a large-scale sales and promotion effort’. KOTLER

The previous concepts results were a focus on sales promotional products campaigns, without considering whether your products are satisfying the customers’ need or not.

So the Sales Concepts resulted in a Short-Term Profit, and can’t help in increasing the company business or expansion of its product. Let me give you some examples:

To understand why do we need the marketing; I will share with you this example: Imagine that you want to make new Cola Product, so you proceed in the production of your product, ensured from the quality, started to release your products to all of the cities in the United States through a daily advertising on the Television, Websites, and Promotional Campaigns about your products.

You spend thousands of thousands of dollars in the advertising and promotional campaigns, but you don’t know if the market needs your products or not.

Let us take the story from the other side: why the customers can’t buy your products? Is it unattractive? Is it not tasty like the popular cola products; Coca Cola and Pepsi?

So now its time to ask you very important question; does the market need my product? Do the customers need my products?

  • When Organizations asked themselves the previous questions, they started how to create a product that customers need and want.
  • Then the Marketing Concepts started to be created and transformed the organizations to a different level of making money and profit, and this concept helps some companies to be STARS in a short-period of time.
  • What was the Marketing Concepts?
  • What is the Marketing Management Philosophy?
  • Why do we need Guerrilla marketing?

‘The marketing concept holds that achieving organizational goals depends on determining the needs and wants of target markets and delivering the desired satisfactions more effectively and efficiently than competitors do’.       KOTLER

So from the previous concept, marketers started to think about the customers’ need, want and demands; what are the customers looking for, what are the essential needs they need, what are the values they based on when take a decision.

Then the marketers started to think, who are the customers that they should look for their needs; are they from the main city of the country or from villages? , what is their income levels and is it different in creating our products?

Also the marketers thought about any factors could affect the marketing for products. I mean if a company make a product that satisfy the customers’ need, but is there any other factors should be considered? Are the political factors could affect the profit of my products? Any Economic factors? What are my product’s competitors? Am I the only Brand that satisfies those customers or having any competitors? What are the differentiation factors for each product of the competitors? What should I do to make my product different? What should I do to find new opportunities for my products growth? All of those questions are describing macro-environmental factors (external environmental factors or external audit) analysis, and micro-environmental factors (internal environmental factors or internal audit) analysis.

When the organizations ask themselves the previous questions, they started to go deeply about why do we need marketing, think about the putting marketing objectives, marketing strategies, segmenting and targeting the customers, developing a positioning strategy for their products, think about any factors that could affect their brand, their promotional tools, their price and think about the channel of distributing their products in the market and how keep a relations with them.
